Representative, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr. Daniel I. Kifasi

Daniel I. Kifasi is the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF)’s representative on the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Kifasi has invested the last two decades of his career in the Nigerian Civil Service in the area of Finance and Accounts. He is currently a Permanent Secretary with the Federal Ministry of Finance.

He started his career with the Bursary Department of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1976. Between 1983 and 1989 he worked with the Jos International Breweries Ltd in various capacities. Kifasi joined the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1990 as an Assistant Director in the Accounts Department. Subsequently, he was deployed to the Federal Ministry of Finance where he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Director (Accounts). Thereafter he served in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation as Deputy Director (Accounts) and subsequently in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation as Director with oversight responsibility for the Finance and Accounts Department.

 

In 2008, Mr. Kifasi proceeded to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Jos. On his return, he was posted to the Federal Ministry of Power as Director of Finance and Accounts. In March 2009, he was appointed Permanent Secretary and was posted to the Federal Ministry of Youth Development. He later moved to the Federal Ministry of Aviation and finally to the Federal Ministry of Finance on 8th July, 2010 where he still serves as Permanent Secretary.

 

Kifasi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from the University of Abuja, Abuja. He was called to the Bar in 2008. Daniel is a member of the NIPSS (mni) Ministry of Aviation and finally to the Federal Ministry of Finance on 8th July, 2010 where he still serves as Permanent Secretary.

 

Kifasi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from the University of Abuja, Abuja. He was called to the Bar in 2008. Daniel is a member of the NIPSS (mni)
